ACADEMIC WRITING...

When I was 8 years old, I learned how to be an excellent student from my favorite game. I like to play Lego because it makes me feel happy and there is one from my ambition to be an architect when I grew up. From my game I can practice doing things such as I know how to solve a problem. At first, I feel angry because what I built from my Lego can not make a shape like car, building, dinosaur and so on. I always give up of what I built with my game. Then my brother comes teach me how to make shape, and he always gives me some advice that as a student we can not easily give up of what we have done. We must strive and struggle if we want to be an excellent student. From that time, I intend to be a successful student like my brother and do not easily give up. After that, I successfully built many shape from my Lego. Now, I am because I can learn the importance of thinking, and I want to be an excellent student in the future. I try to generate of what I have done.

ACADEMIC WRITING...

Recently was my friend’s wedding that I have learned about wedding ceremony. There were two people are united in marriage. It is so interesting and grand ceremony that I never seen before. I could see many guests came to her wedding. From there, I also know that most wedding ceremonies involve an exchange of wedding vows by the couple, presentation of a ring or rings and marriage contract by an authority figure or religious leader who are proclamation of marriage. For our information, this involves the bride and groom feeding each other sweetened rice. In addition, both of them put on a traditional wedding clothes such as baju kebaya for the bridegroom and baju melayu with head-dress for the bride. They are look match when they are sitting together at the bridal dais. Lastly, the celebrations are later concluded with poses for family photos. On my view, most wedding ceremony is a tremendous and attracted because it has a unique and own characteristic.

ACADEMIC WRITING...

My cousin was an important influence on me as a child. He was interested in doing any business that would make him satisfied and happy. When he was a child, he always helps his parent in their business like producing cookies. He kept thinking of managing as well as continuing his parent’ business when he grew up. He liked to travel overseas to get more experiences and learn to be an excellent manager. Now, his ambitious has come true he owns three companies in Kuala Lumpur, Pahang and Malacca that his parent leaves for him. He wants to improve his companies to become big companies, and he wants to become a successful manager like his parent did. I learned from his experiences and wanted to be like him. Hopefully, I can own big company and become a successful manager in the future.

I think the Total Physical Response method is a better way to learn Japanese language. According to Jensen, there is a connection between memory and physical action where brain and body can remember together. In a Total Physical Response class, the teacher gives commands like “stand up” and “sit down”. Students learn the commands by responding physically. They do not have practice in reading skill, but that is not a problem. The goal is only to listen and respond because this language is usually used in speech communication.

ACADEMIC WRITING...

My idea of the perfect career is in management and administration. I am going to become an excellent chief executive officer in the future, for three reasons. First, I am fascinated by economic, business management, as well as in designing. Second, I enjoy helping people and have a good communication especially in communities. Business also can make us challenging, perfect and can make us something interesting. Third, I love to solve any problem and give some good ideas in any situation because I would like to satisfy other people about their work. I also able to impose a right decision with critical and creative thinking to support their work. I am really excited to own a company in the future. For me, I like to work in a big company with many people. Indeed, I have one possible problem which is I can not manage time properly. However, I have many friends to support my ambition. My parent also gives strength to do the best I can. Hopefully, I can make it as my challenge to achieve my goals as well as strive becoming a successful Chief Executive Officer in the future.

A LOTS OF PICTURE DURING HARI RAYA 2008..

REWRITING..A WEDDING CEREMONY THAT I HAVE LEARNED...

A wedding is the ceremony in which two people are united in marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Most wedding ceremonies involve an exchange of wedding vows by the couple, presentation of a ring or rings, and a public proclamation of marriage by an authority figure or religious leader. Special wedding garments are often worn, and the ceremony is followed by a wedding reception. Music, poetry, prayer or readings from Scripture may also be incorporated in the ceremony. This involves the bride and groom feeding each other sweetened rice. The celebrations are later concluded with poses for family photos. On my view, most wedding ceremony is a tremendous and attracted because it has a unique and own characteristic.

AN INTERESTING EVENT FROM MY FRIEND...

My friend that I think had the most interesting event is muazzah. I am so excited during heard her story. Her story make me interestin. Perhaps the rest of my friend probably did not agree with me because we were in different opinion. Muazzah told me that she had involved in “khatam Al Quran ceremony. Everyone who attend and involve in this ceremony, they have to wear traditional and Islamic costume. For example, “baju melayu” or “sarong” for men and baju kurung for women. Moreover, the entire guest will have delicious and authentic meal such as Briyani Rice and Penang Laksa. They are in groups while joined this ceremony. Most of them are adult including oldfoks. The entire guest will have their special activities which they will “marhaban and berzanji” together. This event is focused on part of religion activities. In my opinion, who one involved in this ceremony will had advantages for themselves either in their personal life or social environment.

...RITES OF PASSAGE..

Events during a family's history such as births, weddings, circumcisions, even funerals were also celebrated or commemorated (remembered as an important event) by Muslims of the Middle Ages. Each culture that became part of the World of Islam added their traditional celebrations and mixed them with Islam. Weddings, for example, were celebrated in different ways across the world of Islam, but there were similarities. Reading from the Qur'an was always done. Henna (dyeing of the hands) was a common Muslim and Indian ceremony.
Lives were also influenced by the culture and class into which the child was born. For example, wealthier families would celebrate differently than poor families. A Muslim living in Turkey would have a very different life from a Muslim living in Arabia or Persia. And a woman would have a very different life from a man. Such are the influences of culture, class, and gender during the Middle Ages.
But yet Islam had a tremendous unifying effect across the whole of the Islamic World from India to Spain and beyond.

BIRTH.. A baby was usually born in the family's home with the help of a midwife (woman who helps deliver babies). In some cities there were hospitals that women could go.
Families usually preferred to have a male child. This is because the sons would stay with the family and take care of the parents. Daughters usually left home to move in with the husband's family. So the birth of a son, especially, was cause for a great celebration.

- CIRCUMCISION...
Circumcision was practiced in most Muslim cultures. Circumcision was common in the Middle East before Islam from the time of Abraham.
Muslim boys were circumcised between the ages 2-14 by special surgeons. The circumcision ceremony introduced the child to his religious society as a new member and was part of a transition to manhood.
Circumcisions were generally celebrated by the family and whole community. Boys got presents. There was a big feast in the village with musicians and entertainment.
[Note: Circumcision is not required nor mentioned in the Qur'an, but Muslims generally follow this tradition which Arabs and Jews followed, at least since the time of Abraham.

-BECOMING AN ADULT In most cultures, when children reached puberty they were treated like adults and were given adult responsibilities. Women could marry and many did at an early age. Men usually married a few years later. Both the young men and women (even at the ages of twelve or thirteen) would be expected to work. In fact, they may have been working much earlier! Boys were often trained in a job that their family members followed. For example, the son of a farmer would most likely be a farmer. The son of a merchant would be trained to become a merchant. Young men would be expected to join in combat if needed. There was no idea of "being a teenager" - a time of freedom from hard work and serious responsibilities, like there is today in the United States. If the child had learned the Qur'an (usually by the age of ten) and knew the rituals, they would be allowed to go to the mosque like their fathers and mothers.

...SWEET AND PAINFUL MEMORY..

Everyone have their own experience in life either it is sweet or pain memory and same like me, I have a story that I want to share with you. This story that I could never forgot and I hope you will enjoy with my experience. The story starting when I was in form four, my school held an English elocution contest. I was really horrified when I was chosen as one of the participants. For the next few days I searched model essay books for a suitable topic to speak on for I could never have had written my own speech even if my life depended on it. Eventually, I chose a topic on pollution because at that time everyone from the man in the street to the top ministers were talking about it. After that, I memorized the speech until I was word-perfect. Having done that, I practised delivering the speech in front of a full-length mirror. At the beginning, I stumbled over some tongue-twisting words. Later, I was able to deliver the whole speech in a ringing voice and with the most emphatic gestures. I thought that I was magnificent and so did my family. Eventually, I even dared to think that I might win the championship after all!!
At last, the day of the content arrived. I was seated in front with the rest of the contestants. Some of the contestants spoke and I thought that they were very good. However, I felt that I was better than all of them. When my turn came to speak, I wanted to stride confidently up the stage but my legs had turned rubbery and I could hardly walk. Somehow, I made my way up the stairs to the stage and stood in front of the microphone. “ A very good morning to the Chairman, my beloved Principal, teachers and fellow-pupils,” I began and that was as far as I got. My next words simply refused to come out. All the beautiful words which I had stored in my memory seemed to have evaporated. My limbs were also so stiffened by fear that I could not coax them to display any of the gestures which I had taken so much time and effort to perfect. I could feel the audience sympathizing with me but I did not want their sympathy. What I wanted was their admiration. By a tremendous effort of will, I managed to let out a sound but it turned out to be croak because of my tense throat muscles. The audience was no longer sympathetic and it roared with laughter. I was so humiliated that I ran down the stage and out of the school hall without looking back even once. When I was home again, the speech I had memorized came out effortlessly. If only I could have spoken like that at the venue of the competition!! Mt attempt to participate in the elocution contest was the most embarrassing and saddest moment of my life. I could not believe it!

MY FRIENDS AND HER TOYS...

  • nabila likes to play Lego and teddy bear and riding a bicycle as a routine.
  • Azah usually play with her baby doll and she likes to ride.
  • Adah also like playing with teddy bear and army toys. She usually playing police and thief and chick and haunts.
  • Fisha likes to talk with her teddy bear and same with ain she also like to play hide and seek.
  • Kak Safiyyah always play grocery store and her favourite activity when she was child is ride a bicycle.

SOMETHING I LEARNED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF TOY...

As some of you may recall, I have a one year old girl. These days I was in the fortunate position of spending more time with her. And, while playing and preparing meals and feeding her, it just hit me: I have learned a tremendous amount of stuff from her, during this last year. So here is a small list.. Once you’re down, there are literally a gazillion ways to get up again. It only takes just a few new moves to be learned, or a better and innovative usage of the environment…If you don’t want to do a thing (like eating your vegetables, for instance, or going to sleep) well, there’s nobody in the world who can force you into it. You only do what you really want…If you do want something badly, then, no matter how many obstacles in the way, how many interdictions from the parents, if you truly and honestly want that thing, and if you are reasonably loudly letting the world knowing about that, well, eventually you’ll get it…You do not depend on toys. Most of the time, for adult people, toys are translated by: you cannot have enough plasma tv, shiny laptops or expensive cars. But, in the end, nothing compares with a walk in the afternoon. Toys are nice, but you can do even better without them…You cannot have enough hugs in your life. Regardless of the nature of the hugged object: being it a teddy bear, a plastic puppet, or just your exhausted parents, trying to put you to sleep… At any time in your life, if a hug opportunity is coming, don’t miss it…Talk is not really necessary. Many times, words are just staying in your way. You can have a decent level of communication only by being yourself. Sooner or later they will get to know you and you’ll communicate without words. If you really like something, doing it over and over again will not make you bored. You can play with your daddy’s watch, or with your mom’s bracelet hundreds of times, with the same level of joy like the first time. They can be played with and learned from, and they can be used to achieve other goals. As long as you really enjoy it…

MEANING OF AVANT-GARDE...

1) The concept of avant-garde refers exclusively to marginalized artists, writers, composers and thinkers whose work is not only opposed to mainstream commercial values, but often has an abrasive social or political edge.

2) A group active in the invention and application of new techniques in a given field, especially in the arts.

3) Avant-garde, the French military and political term for the vanguard of an army or political movement, extended since the late 19th century to that body of artists and writers who are dedicated to the idea of art as experiment and revolt against tradition. Ezra Pound's view, that ‘Artists are the antennae of the race’, is a distinctly modern one, implying a duty to stay ahead of one's time through constant innovation in forms and subjects.

4) The innovating artists or writers who promote the use of new or experimental concepts or techniques.

HISTORY OF COLGATE TOOTHPASTE...

In 1806, when the company was founded by 23-year-old William Colgate, it concentrated exclusively on selling starch, soap, and candles from its New York City-based factory and shop. Upon entering his second year of business, Colgate became partners with Francis Smith, and the company became Smith and Colgate, a name it kept until 1812 when Colgate purchased Smith's share of the company and offered a partnership to his brother, Bowles Colgate. Now called William Colgate and Company, the firm expanded its manufacturing operations to a Jersey City, New Jersey, factory in 1820; this factory produced Colgate's two major products, Windsor toilet soaps and Pearl starch. Colgate-Palmolive Company's growth from a small candle and soap manufacturer to one of the most powerful consumer products giants in the world is the result of aggressive acquisition of other companies, persistent attempts to overtake its major U.S. competition, and an early emphasis on building a global presence overseas where little competition existed. The company is organized around four core segments--oral care, personal care, home care, and pet nutrition--that market such well-known brands as Colgate toothpaste, Irish Spring soap, Softsoap liquid soap, Mennen deodorant, Palmolive and Ajax dishwashing liquid, Ajax cleanser, Murphy's oil soap, Fab laundry detergent, Soupline and Suavitel fabric softeners, and Hill's Science Diet and Hill's Prescription Diet pet foods. Colgate-Palmolive has operations in more than 200 countries and generates about 70 percent of its revenue outside the United States.

Happiness at work is not the name of a fairy tale. It’s a reality for many employees, managers, and entrepreneurs — people just like you. You’ve probably heard that other employees can wear their pajamas to work and be rewarded with excellent pay, exotic job training, 5 star restaurants, a fun climbing wall, and other perks. Something that I have learned about the secrets of happiness from my father is to feed his needs. My father happy at work and he does his best work when he needs are met. Structure his work life, so he does more of the tasks that are the most meaningful and fulfilling to him. Identify and communicate his unmet needs in a win-win way. He will create a healthy coaching and constructive feedback system. Besides, other secret that my father keeps is stress is his strengths. He always identifies and emphasizes his strengths as well as spends far too much time trying to correct, rather than manage, his weaknesses. He joys on the job emerges when he uses his talents in ways that express his special abilities and benefit others. He comes to Earth fully prepared to make a special contribution that only he can make. In addition, he keeps developing a signature style. Since he is a gift to this planet, he identifies what’s unique about his personalities and talents. He also developing a signature style that ensures the clients, managers, and coworkers notice his skills and talents. They’ll lavishly reward him for his special contributions. Looks to my father’s secret, he has his own talents. He always shines by sharing his special skills and talents. For instance, volunteer to mentor someone who’s struggling with an activity that his already mastered. This will invariably boost his skills and knowledge. He will soon become even more aware of his professional passion and life purpose. Since happiness at work grows when his self-esteem rises, he will also enjoy more joy on the job. Moreover, whether he is an entrepreneur or he work for a company, he is the CEO of his Inner Firm. Be accountable to him by doing his best work. Just as an effective organizations do, and he makes sure the staff in his organization receive the best possible training. Watch his joy on the job surge with self-initiated education. Use the Internet, mentors, virtual networking, classes, and trade association meetings to create more happiness at work. I felt satisfied when I am looking my father working. From there, I have got more knowledge as well as information that I can keep in my mind. Hopefully, I can be like my father when have a good job in the future. I am really interested about my father’s secrets. Now, I must study hard to achieve my aims in the future.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH FLOW...

Actually, most of us have their own experience with flow. Perhaps, truly happy people experience it often. To understand the word flow, think about the river. It moves smoothly and easily down a mountain, trough a forest, to the ocean. The river flows toward the ocean. A person sometimes experience moments of flow in life. These are times when an activity goes very smoothly and brings greats happiness. However, flow does not last long. My experience begins when I was at primary school and now in campus life. I could remember when I am in standard one which is my teacher choose me to join with my senior to participate in dancing performance. I am so happy because I am the one in my class who was choosing to participate with them and actually I felt so weird why just me are choosing at that time??? Now, that is not the right time to think because I need to focus on my performance. At the first time, I am so stiff because I do not know how to dance nicely. When I dance, my friends always laugh at me. They said my dancing same like robot on cartoon' television, but I don’t give up and I will try my best because my teacher ever said that I have a talent to improve my skill in dancing. What I want to tell you about my experience with flow are it makes me have a great focus during I have done my practice. This is the one of characteristic with flow. I just think of what I have done. I need to do the best as I can. During weekend, I always practice at the school with my teacher until I can dance nicely. Although, I am not the one who can dance nicely, but I have a great practice and I am going to improve my skill. My teacher is the one who always give me supported and encourage during my practicing. She also increases my self-confident in the high rate. I am so thankful to her. I am always practice in front of mirror to ensure I can do the best during the performance. At the first time I performed in front of the audience, I felt so anxious and nervous, but I would tried my best and finally I successful pull through that distract my attention to perform. Then I can dance gracefully until I join Fansuri’ club in my university. That was my opportunity and chance to establish my skill in dancing. I am also felt very satisfied and glad because I able to perform well beyond my expectation. Now, I can teach my friend how to dance gracefully because my teacher said I can dance very well in front of the audience. That is not my expectation because before it I can dance with attention. I felt nervous even my friends want my expertise to teach them. I can not believe it! The great happiness appeared in the deep of my heart at the moment. Hopefully, I can dance nicely during the Grand Manifestos Festival on October that I was examined by my teacher in order to pass my co-curriculum’ examination…

WHERE I AM IN LIFE NOW..

Life is amazingly strange. I can find my passion in life and still struggle. If I not careful, my passion can slip away from me. Once I discover my passion and cultivate it, I must do my best to never let it go. Now, I am 19 years old. In this age, there were a lot of things that I can do. I will story you as in a chronology order about my life. Begins with my dream that I want to be a doctor because my mother always imagine when I grow up I can help people who needs my services. I am really wants to be like my uncle. I ever see him treat patient carefully as well as he gives a good remedy to cure their disease. He also gives a high quality service that patient needs it as well as he ensures his entire patient are cured as he can do the best. That’s why I am always imagined want to be a successful doctor when I am grows up. That is my entire dream when I am in standard tree, but that is only my obsession in the future and my hopeful. However, thanks to God because give me a chance when I received my PMR’s result. I can continue my ambition trough in form four when I am at secondary school. I was entered in upper science class with my best result in PMR. It was an unforgettable moment that I really hard to forget until now. My entire ambition fully when I am in first day in my class. I can see my friends with their happiness. I am lucky because I can achieve my goals when I entered the class. Two month later, I felt so hard. I did not know where I am. At the first times, my ambition spoilt and totally changes after I got my first test result in chemistry’ subject. I got bad result and I know I disable go on for this subject. The subject makes me focus deeply because it contains so many formulae which are needed to remember one by one. I am always failed because I am so confuse to use the formulae. My tears drop off when I received the third result. I felt so dejected. Every night I think about this. I did not want my ambition spoilt again especially my parent hopes I can be a doctor in the next future. My parent knows about my result and they understand I disable go on for this subject. They did not blame me because they know my ability. Then I tell my parent the truth that I want to change the status. I would not continue for that class and I want to further my study in accounting class. That was my suggestion. Actually my parent disagrees about my permission, then they think that they could not force me to further in science stream class. My teacher also thinks the same like my parent. They think my ability and effort not enough in order to attain excellent result. I must grab all the opportunities that come to me after this. Then they allowed me to further in accounting class. I felt so moody when I entered the class. I am always dwelling on my weaknesses that I can not able to achieve my ambition since standard tree. I am really interested to become a doctor. I know that situation had changes my attitude in physically as well as mentally. I need to change it because I know my ability. My friends always give me a kind of hopeful that I can do the best in my life. They also give some advises and supported to further my study. Now, I strive hard to attain my ambitious in the future. I need to struggle and focus in what I am doing right now either it is hard or easy to achieve it. Every night, I pray to God to give me the right way. I am always doing revision and exercises with my friends. Sometimes in the evening, we had a group discussion with my teacher and did many passed questions. I need to scarify wisely to attain excellent result as well as I must challenge my friend to show them that I can do the best. I am so happy because I successfully handle all my problems. I am really thankful to all my friends and my teacher because they were help me a lot in studying as well as always give supported and encouraged in any situation. At the end, although my result is not like Nor Amalina, but I am very satisfied with my effort and my hardworking in doing the best as I can. Now, I further my study at Islamic Science University of Malaysia under Economic and Muamalat Faculty major in Corporate Administration and Relation. I determine to attain the best result as well as to get dean list major in my priority. I did not to burden my family that I did in past. I must change my strategy for my future. Hopefully my future dream will come true soon. Lastly, this is my word always bare in my mind until now because it seemed has a power to generate my emotion and spirit together in order to make my dream become reality.
